The last five years have literally flown by for Anne since first becoming a councillor on Stratford-on-Avon District Council in 2014 and she feels that her feet are well worn around the Ward, having enjoyed meeting many residents as well as forging new friendships. She has taken active roles on both Planning East and Planning West committees and sat on Licensing Panels and as Chair of the Regulatory Committee. Looking after Ashorne, Moreton Morrell, Moreton Paddox, Newbold Pacey, Walton and Wellesbourne has definitely kept her busy with a wide range of issues on behalf of residents. It’s a 24/7 role! Looking ahead her priorities will be focused on dealing with planning, housing, traffic and community welfare related issues, which involves working closely with the parish councils. She believes that what she may have lacked in experience during the early days has been made up by her appetite for learning the job, enthusiasm for getting stuck in and a fresh approach with a ‘can do’ attitude. Multi-tasking is definitely prerequisite for the role and in her view a good local councillor can make a real difference by making things happen.
