Chris was brought up in Bishops Itchington and still lives and works in the parish. A Chartered Accountant working with small and medium sized businesses in the West Midlands, he also runs a mixed livestock and arable farm at Pipers Hill. Chris has been a District Councillor for the last seven years, working for residents to improve the delivery of High-Speed Broadband both within the ward and the rural parts of the district, ensuring that the developments meet the needs of current and future residents and that developments adopt the best design and layout standards, in line with the District’s Core Strategy. Chris has also been negotiating with the developers of the old Harbury Cement Works to increase the number of affordable homes on that site by 30%. He is working on the GLH Masterplan to ensure that existing residents get the best outcome from the developments and is making sure the highway improvements are delivered, specifically that the Harbury Lane/Fosse Way junction is improved. This summer, the County Council will finally be installing traffic lights to improve this accident blackspot.
Chris is also committed to ensuring that the pedestrian road crossings between Lighthorne Heath and the new settlement are adequate and is negotiating with the developers at Temple Herdewycke to deliver a new community hall. He is challenging the housing associations providing affordable homes, in order to prevent any further sell offs of much needed affordable bungalows in villages centres. Chris is ensuring housing association tenants get the critical repairs and maintenance they need as well as working with the County Council to introduce measures to reduce speeding traffic and minimise the impact of HS2 on our roads.
As a County Councillor for Feldon Chris is using his seven years of experience to fight for improved road networks, making your roads safer. He is also committed to fighting crime and is continuing his work on minimising the effects of HS2 in Feldon, as well as Bishops Itchington.
